Abstract: The main objective of this project is to propose a new design of semi-isotropic antenna, which can radiate evenly across the whole upper semi-sphere. The proposed antenna consists of one monopole antenna at the centre and two curved cavity backed slot antenna at opposite side of the monopole antenna with a circular ground plane. The centre frequency of the proposed antenna is 1.8 GHz with a bandwidth of 2% for -lOdB return loss. Proper design the three elements to achieve a geometry symmetry and certain power division ratio is very important for achieving the semi-spherical radiation pattern. The phase difference between the three elements also significantly affects the overall radiation pattern.
