Abstract: The integration of renewable energy such as hybrid photovoltaic-wind generator into grid systems is becoming attractive. However, power outputs from renewable sources such as photovoltaic, wind generator are not steady with the result that they can affect negatively on grid operation. One solution to overcome this problem is to use energy storage system. Nowadays, many types of energy storage systems are available. In most cases, however, batteries are still most cost effective.
