Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: The ideal two-dimensional filter shape for a down-sampler M, is known to be non-unique. While existing filter bank design schemes cater to specific filter shapes, a universal design procedure based on lifting is used here to design these filter banks. This report deals with the design of Filters and Filter banks for ID case and for 2D nonseperable case. Several interesting alias-free ideal Filterbank shapes are designed. Diamond and Fan shapes are some of those.
