Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: Multiple wavelengths, distributed feedback (DFB) fiber lasers are attractive for a range of applications in optical communications, including soliton and microwave generation. In conventional DFB fiber lasers, it is realized by comprising a UV-induced Bragg grating fabricated in a rare-earth-doped fiber. Comparing with solid and gas lasers, the DFB fiber lasers exhibit many advantages, such as narrow linewidth, tunability and compatibility with optical fiber systems.
