Abstract: In recent times, information technology revolution has significantly transformed many parts of our lives. With increasing application of digital data in various forms such as image, video, music, documents and graphics, its security and authentic usage has posed important technological challenges for both industry and academia. This thesis discusses the issues regarding secure content authentication of binary document and grayscale images using digital watermarking techniques. By suitably hiding the watermark within a digital image, it is possible to verify whether it has been tampered by malicious attackers after the watermarking process.
