The simplicity of control structure and the ease of hardware implementation make it ideal choice of control practitioners. In a conventional structure the sensitivity and complementary sensitivity must add up to one. So it becomes necessary to achieve a good balance. There are numerous variations of the conventional structure that try to achieve some advantages.
