Abstract: PID controllers are the most widely used controllers in today's industrial control applications. The simplicity of control structure and the ease of hardware implementation make it ideal choice of control practitioners. In a conventional structure the sensitivity and complementary sensitivity must add up to one. So it becomes necessary to achieve a good balance. There are numerous variations of the conventional structure that try to achieve some advantages. Feed Forward control structure where the modeled output disturbance is used to design a special feed forward controller that works in tandem with the feedback controller to achieve faster disturbance rejection and better performance.
