Abstract: The objective of this project is to develop a programmable mobile robot for third year undergraduate course module EE3072 project - Semicustom IC Implementation. This serves as a platform for the students to design path controller and speed controller using the Xilinx webPack that provides a VHDL code development environment. Both the path and speed controllers are functional modules of the overall robot controller. The development of the robot is divided into two sections-hardware and software. This project focuses on software development consisting of writing control algorithms and VHDL codes followed by simulating and implementing them and finally programming them to the FPGA.
