Abstract: The aim of this dissertation is to help develop a structured approach to the development and maintenance of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) in the petrochemical manufacturing environment. The structured approach is proposed using a simplified Safety Life Cycle (SLC) Model supplemented by a series of safety checklists that can be applied to achieve desired results.
