Abstract: Fairness has emerged as a major issue in the political economy of economic growth but the lack of a unified formal framework of fairness has impeded analysis in the past. This thesis formalizes a concept of fairness which is then applied to a neoclassical eco-nomic growth model, so as to analyze issues of fairness in economic growth. This concept of fairness is analytically and computationally simple to derive in dynamic games and en-dogenous in the sense that it results from the interactions between heterogeneous agents.
