dc.description.abstract | This dissertation focuses on a specific process "Linking a CAD and a CAPP system". In this era of hi-tech information technology, this problem of transferring the design data from the CAD to CAPP system acted as a major hindrance in the pace of Concurrent Engineering process from design stage to manufacturing. Thus, this problem has been surveyed, analyzed and also the shortcomings of previous efforts and approaches are thoroughly scrutinized. Considering the above factors a specific editor has been designed to extract the data from the CAD model and this data is read by the CAPP tool. | en_US |
