Title: Development of graphical user interface and allocation algorithm for container loading optimization
Authors: Subramanian Ramya.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering
Issue Date: 2005
Abstract: The concept of Unit loads and Containerization has been developed in recent years for the efficient transportation and distribution purposes. With globalization, load optimization becomes more pronounced as one seeks to develop more economical and better distribution systems. In NTU, a new optimization (solver) algorithm has been developed which was found to better present load optimizer software currently available in the market. It, however, lacks a good user friendly shell as well as features such as easy loading, material handling and storage of pallets and containers.
