Authors: Vimalagopalan Divya

Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: The fields of biology, medical physics and biomedical engineering are broad and multidisciplinary. Biophotonics is the field of science and engineering that deals with interaction of light with biological matter. It is a frontier that involves fusion of photonics and biology. Blood analysis stands as a base for any diagnostic investigations in hospitals. Till date, it is only performed through microscopic techniques. Therefore, it is useful to develop a parallel method to complement microscopic investigations. In this dissertation work, the development of holography in the field of biology is summarised.
