Abstract: Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) technique has been applied in the area of colorectal and anorectal clinical diagnosis for about twenty years. However, corresponding image processing technology has yet to keep pace with it. Surgeons and radiologists alike strongly desire an image processing tool to ease their daily tedious and time-consuming image outlining work. Such a tool should have the ability to provide segmentation and labeling of rectal anatomical structures for the purpose of clinical rectal screening and tumor staging.
