Issue Date: 2005
Abstract: In this dissertation, the kansei design a Japanese method of product development has been analyzed and been incorporated based on association rule mining. A program has been developed to give the association rules for the kansei design. This gives an immense feedback from the customers to the designers of the product as to what the customers look for in their product. The kansei design is purely based on the customers' emotions, expressions on the product. These expressed words as adjectives have to be related to the physical design feature of a product to meet the customers' expectations. In this regard kansei design will provide the required feedback to the designers but a large database will be accumulated out of which the necessary, important information has to be grasped.
