Title: | Integrated chemical distribution centre and application of information technology : a case study | Authors: | Chiong, Yau Meng. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2005 | Abstract: | Strong growth as well as increase in investments for the chemical related industries in Singapore for the past couple of years has proven to be a new focal point for the logistics service providers. Chemical manufacturers and trading companies have realised the need to focus on their core business to generate more revenue, instead of investing in resources to manage the logistical activities that are not their specialty. Many logistics service providers have started to appreciate and understand the needs to equip themselves with the knowledge to professionally handle chemicals throughout the entire supply chain. Investment in infrastructure, equipment, technology and knowledge is inevitable before they can call themselves "Chemical Logistics Service Providers" to differential themselves from the rest. | Description: | 82 p. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/47211 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
