Abstract: Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the common opportunistic pathogen which can trigger severe and systemic infections especially in immune suppressed persons. The development of resistant strain to many disinfectants and antimicrobial agents is a major threat to the community. The aim of this study is to detect the minimal bactericidal concentration of disinfectant against Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1. Three generally used disinfectant solutions are selected for this study. Their time-based killing activities are analyzed. The different effects of distilled water and tap water are also analysed by using distilled water and tap water as dilution solvent. Liquified phenol is used as a standard to compare the activities of all disinfectant solutions. By doing so, the minimal bactericidal concentration of each disinfectant solution in different media is detected. Therefore, the proper concentration of disinfectant solution should be used in daily practice to prevent the development of resistance strains.
