Abstract: Sembawang Logistics is conducting a review of its non-executive job structure as a first step by the company in transforming into a more nimble, performance oriented workforce. The 14-grade job structure for the non-executive is scrutinised, and through a series of focus group interviews with senior management, mid-echelon managers, and employees on the ground, a new job structure is proposed. This new job structure comprise three main bands, supported by a new job description template, clearer promotion criteria for career management, and a more comprehensive skills and competency framework.
