Abstract: The energy industry has increasingly been using 3-D Visualization since 80s to help discover and produce oil and gas. The industry started making use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology since late 90s. The objective of this dissertation is to study the VR applications in the upstream oil and gas industry and assess how it helps the decisionmaking process in the industry.
