Abstract: Single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are promising materials with exceptional electronic, mechanical and optical properties. A significant obstacle to the myriad applications of SWNTs is their tendency to aggregate into bundles. This thesis centers on the use of biomacromolecular dispersants for effective dispersion of SWNTs in aqueous solution into individual nanotubes or small bundles and extraction of specific chiral species.
