Abstract: Space-time block code designs have recently attracted a considerable attention. There have been several kinds of space-time block code designs, for example, orthogonal space-time block codes, unitary space-time codes, and diagonal space-time codes. Among these space-time code designs, one of the most popular classes is the class of diagonal lattice space-time codes. To design good diagonal lattice space-time codes, our main tool is algebraic number theory. The idea is looking for number fields with small absolute values of discriminants.
