姚紫在反黄运动时期的回应 ：以《咖啡底诱惑》为中心 = Yao Zi's response during the anti-yellow movement : a study of coffee's seduction

Abstract

本文通过分析新加坡早期小说家，姚紫的作品，探讨姚紫对反黄运动的看法，以及以姚紫的著名小说《咖啡底诱惑》为中心，分析文本中姚紫对反黄运动的回应。《咖啡底诱惑》在1951 年出版，之后在1962 年出版了删订版。以两个不同的版本做比较，研究作者姚紫在当时反黄运动时期时思维上的改变，以及他又是如何通过删订版，回应与反抗当时社会对他的作品所作出的控诉与谴责。最后本文将利用姚紫本身以及不同学者的看法，对于姚紫是不是黄色作家、姚紫的作品是不是黄色读物，做出结论。This thesis is an analysis on Yao Zi and his literary works, with the focus on Coffee’s Seduction to determine his response with regards to the Anti-Yellow Movement. Coffee’s Seduction was published in 1951 and re-edited to be published again in 1962. A comparison between the two versions will be made to analyze the change in Yao Zi’s thinking and how he made use of the new version to respond and retaliate towards the accusations thrown at him of being a “Yellow Author” at the time. Lastly, this thesis will determine if Yao Zi is a “Yellow Author” or if his works are “Yellow” using his very own essays, as well as essays from various authors.
