Singapore’s system of Meritocracy, Elitism and Multi-Racialism has its’ focus on a non-bias and fair competition, in which individual abilities served as the benchmark for being an “Elite”. Yet, this supposedly “fair” system has constantly been a topic of debate and criticism among academia researchers. Based on the discussion above, this thesis sought to understand the perception of Singaporean Chinese Undergraduates have on their local system of Meritocracy, Elitism and Multi-Racialism. The main focus will be on their views and opinions on Elitism, and this research will also have its’ direction steered towards the Chinese “foreign talent” from China, in order to have a clearer understanding of how the Singaporean Chinese Undergraduates felt of their own Chinese Ethnic-Identity and the possible influence it might resulted in.
