Abstract: With the rapid changes occurring in the role of work in women‟s lives, this research project was designed to re-examine the career planning, career decision making and work history of women to develop a Career Maze. A qualitative analysis of semi structured interviews identified 11 emerging themes: Organisation structure, organisation culture, type of industry, societal perception of leadership, Individual characteristics, work life balance, mentorship, support from family and friends, support from colleagues, support from people of authority and change of personal preference. Insights for constructing the maze are presented based on the emerging themes.
