Abstract: With the prevalence of wireless network and smartphone becoming more and more sophisticated. As a result, developers are writing complex application that needs huge amounts of computation power and energy. In this project we will focus on the performance of offload on android phone. For an exhaustive analysis, 3 different type of android application with offloading was created evaluate using 3 performance matrix namely bandwidth, energy consumption, and time to execute. First, we show that offloading a simple task would actually incur more energy. Secondly, we show that offloading greatly reduce energy consumption when we offload component such as searching.
