With the increasing popularity of Android phones, it is necessary to explore how the mobile devices can help to solve some problems for the older people. The objective of the final year project is to build an Android phone application which can help to keep track of the daily route of an elderly people and predict which route will be taken, what’s more, take the necessary actions when the person is not on the predicted route. Overall, there are three aspects the project covered, the first one is the learning period, which is to collect the user’s location data everyday and save the data in a manageable way. The second one is to predict the pattern that will happen according to the existing data. The third one is the action the application should take when people are in wrong situation. The development of the software follows the steps of requirement analysis, algorithm design, implementation, testing and documentation. The results of the projects solve some basic problems of data storage and route prediction, but still have some limitations and need to be improved. Through this project, the author learns a lot about the Android application development and the way to make use of database in android. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/48473 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
