Title: | The here and now. | Authors: | Ng, Darryl Han Ming. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Humanities::Philosophy DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Visual arts |
Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | “The Here and Now” is a visual investigation of philosophical inquiry within dreaming; specifically in dream skepticism. In communicating Descartes’ famous argument: that it would be impossible to differentiate dreaming from wakefulness because of the realistic quality of sensory experience during dream states (Descartes, 1642), the project suggests that no one can be sure if he is awake or asleep. Through optical manipulation in an experiential environment, the project is expressed as a multimedia installation. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/48740 | Schools: | School of Art, Design and Media | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
