Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: Hand in Hand is a visual communication project that offers parents and children a platform to bond through art processes and it proposes to enhance learning. Parents have pragmatic needs of helping their children achieve tangible academic results and overlook the need to emphasize on the development of emotional literacy, such as values and social skills. Emotional literacy is effective when its empower by the parents especially when they have stronger bonding (Wallace, 1998). The project celebrates the benefits of art making for both parent and child through a range of collaborative art activities in an activity book, and also promotional items. They are designed to encourage hands-on experiences between parent and child.
