Abstract: QUEEN MARINA is a story set in the near future about a policewoman of indeterminate age and origin stationed at a beach overnight stop point for heavy vehicles. Every morning, she must activate a button to make the ocean split and allow the vehicles to cross the ocean safely. While doing her duties, she is accompanied by her trusty vintage radio; as the music plays, she reveals her longing for her true dream: to become a world-renowned opera singer. I hope this simple story showcases how much the human spirit can overcome one’s circumstances with unique imagination and belief in oneself.
