Authors: Tsen, Yi Sing.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Environmental engineering::Waste management
Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: Municipal solid waste (MSW) management continues to be a major challenge for the municipal authorities. The challenges aroused from decreasing land availability for waste disposal while the waste generation continues to increase. In addition, increasing community support in recycling campaign and raising awareness about environmental risk associated with the waste management facilities favors an alternative for landfill. On the other hand, many parameters and their interrelationships may appear uncertain which increase the complexity in designing a MSW management system.
