Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: In Singapore, we have quite a number of Park-and-Ride (P&R) facilities. Commuters can park their cars in these facilities and continue their journey by taking public transit service. P&R is supposed to be able to improve public transport ridership and mitigate the traffic congestion in city area by switching commuters to mass transit services. The objective of this study is to look at the current usage and patronage of P&R facilities and build an analytical model to analyse the demand and supply of these facilities. This study also serves to propose suggestions on the facilities pricing and location policies so as to attract more users.
