Title: | Pressure drop in uniform packed bed | Authors: | Wan, Bing Han | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Environmental engineering::Water treatment | Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | This experiment studies the pressure drop through a packed bed. By comparing the data obtained, an attempt to evaluate the validity and applicability of a modified, theoretical form of the Ergun equation for capillary wall flow is made. Four cases of bed packing were used in conjunction with a venturi meter set up to obtain readings for pressure drop across the bed layer. The collected experimental data were then plotted and compared to the theoretical curve given by the Ergun equation. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/49278 | Schools: | School of Civil and Environmental Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
