Abstract: Nowadays commercial buildings have lift systems which require variable frequency applications. As a change of frequency is needed, AC-AC converters are used. Unity power factor is needed, so as to reduce line losses and the project serves to improve the performance of the AC-AC converter in terms of power losses.
