Abstract: In this thesis, a novel authentication system – JavaCard Authentication System (JCAS) – is proposed. It is a flexible and adaptive authentication system that can be used in applications on Internet like e-commerce and in areas where secure authenticated communication is mandatory. This system is designed to have the ability to resist various kinds of currently known attacks and resolve some of the limitations of current authentication systems, as mentioned above.
