Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: The principle objective of the experiment was to investigate on whether supplying oxygen at a low dosage, or micro-aeration, would had a positive effect on the hydrolysis of the anaerobic digestion of food waste and brown water. The motivation factor in performing conducting the experiment was to recover energy through the formation of bio-methane production (BMP), which can aid in finding alternative ways to harness energy through the use of biomass. The scope of the project was limited to the usage of single-stage and dual-stage anaerobic digester process using serum bottles and Oxitop© bottles. That included the efficiency of the production of bio-methane using different volume of oxygen.
