Abstract: Since more processing power and new sensing technologies are already available, the interaction between human and computer is not limited to the traditional device like mouse and keyboard. There are many new developing systems are designed to interact between human and computer through different modalities. Camera based human computer interaction is one kind of new communication system. By using camera to sense and trace human’s expression, computer vision can gather and analyze information and take the correct instruction. This FYP (Final Year Project) cooperates with Panasonic Singapore Laboratories (PSL). PSL is developing a driver monitoring system by using a set of stereo camera to help monitor the status of driver. An application is expect to develop so that the driver’s head can be displayed on a 3D model in the screen. This FYP is aiming to develop a real time 3D face animation system.
