Authors: Yong, Wei Hong

Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: This report records a creation of a new underwater vehicle model similar to a submarine. Unlike the submarine’s steering principles of using rudder, this underwater platform make use of synthetic jet actuators (SJAs) for the replacement of steering. The purpose of SJAs is to help enhance low speed maneuverability of the vehicle. This report majorly focuses on control section of the vehicle: interaction between user input and vehicle output, connections between components and programming of the control components. Experiment phrase is conducted and emphasized in the report with regards to the corrections made in order to attain to the objective of underwater vehicle; its required specifications. Due to the heavy content of the information for constructing remote control vehicles available in the internet and not in any journals, most information is mass quoted from the World Wide Web.
