Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: A conventional circular helix antenna was first constructed and simulated by using CST Microwave Studio. With its characteristics obtained, a rectangular helix structure antenna was then developed and optimized. The project mainly involves examination of the radiation characteristics of the rectangular helix as a function of the structure parameters such as dimensions, pitch angle, aspect ratio, dielectric substrate etc. After that, the final design was fabricated, and simulation results were verified by measurements on S-parameter, radiation characteristics and other parameters.
