Title: | Secure SMS on GoogleTM android | Authors: | Tan, Han Rong. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Applications of electronics | Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | Today, mobile phones has transcended beyond the daily task of receiving and making calls with the advancement of technology. And because of that we are able to to use short message service (SMS) when we are on the road. SMS function has been built into almost every mobile phone that was produce over the last century. As the cost of sending an SMS is generally lower as compared to making a phone call, users are more likely to embrace this secondary form of mobile communication [1]. However in this digital age, threats exist everywhere and hackers can compromise the confidentiality of data transfer. Such that sending of confidential data over the unsecured GSM network can be risky as data maybe end up with people that it was not intended for. There are different encryption suits in the market today that allow the end user to send SMS safely by offering different means of encryption such as symmetry or asymmetric cryptography. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/49935 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
