Abstract: Web-based technology has a significant impact on learning and teaching today. School’s supply of worksheets is no longer sufficient for competitive students and more resources are often demanded by students for practice to facilitate their learning process. The topic of the author’s Final Year Project is an assessment question generator for the Primary School Mathematics topic of Area. A combination of the uptrend of web applications and usefulness of traditional worksheet generation gives rise to this assessment generator, which allows a generation of printable questions that are accompanied by answers and some guided solutions in a web environment. The objective of this project is to develop such an assessment application using Java, including the use of JSP, as well as an online version for users. It is hoped that the application will be able to provide the students with easily accessible tools for them to practice and understand typical examination questions, facilitate students in their learning of the topic of Area, as well as attract the students’ interest in learning mathematics. In addition, students could have a significant improvement in mathematics study with the help of e-learning courseware and question generator.
