Abstract: 3D video, as an emerging technology which covers the whole system from stereo video capturing to 3D display is attracting not only consumers who want to enjoy more realistic stereo views in movies, video games or televisions, but also researchers working on related field. View Synthesis, which is referred as the process to create a virtual view using the reference view and corresponding geometric or depth information, is very essential to the 3D video system for improving the transmission efficiency of the video streams.
