Abstract: In recent years, the customer needs are getting more and more diverse. They want their products to do more instead of performing one primary function. Thus, more and more adaptable products such as reconfigurable and multifunctional products are created. In this report, the author will be discussing the concept, investigating about the methodology and design principles behind adaptive design. A case study will then illustrate the adaptive design concept by analyzing these 3 products (a hand mixer, a hand blender and an adaptable product for integrating both mixer and blender). Lastly, the author will discuss about his prototype making of an amphibious RC vehicle for his project.
