Abstract: Supercapacitors have excellent power density (kW/kg) and good energy density (Wh/kg) as compared to traditional capacitors. They are able to provide better efficiency in energy storage. Supercapacitor also present a longer lifetime, fast charging and discharging time, these characteristics enable them to provide high power surge within a very short period of time. These advantages of the Supercapacitor can be greatly utilised in applications of an electric vehicle. It is incorporated into the electric vehicle, together with the batteries and fuel cells for better efficiency.
