Title: | Wireless communication framework implementation and optimization for STATINA touch interface engine | Authors: | Yang, Bo | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Wireless communication systems | Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | Recently, the growing demands of new generation of touch sensitive interface arisen from the rapid development of multimedia software applications motivate lots of research effort. Among the various innovative source localization technologies is an emerging touch interface engine that utilizes the acoustic signals generated by the finger tap for source localization. By using finite number of vibration sensors mounted on a solid surface, this touch interface technology allows one to convert a daily ordinary object such as tabletop into an interactive touch pad, with distinguished flexibility in the size of touchable area and low implementation cost. However, as such system is often built upon wired communication, the exposure of cluttered wires limits the mobility of the system and restricts user convenience. Thus in this project, research effort has been put in developing a feasible wireless solution with minimum changes required on the existing system. By choosing Jennic JN5148 Wireless Evaluation Kit and the IEEE 802.15.4 compliant variant JenNet as the hardware and transmission protocol, a proposed wireless framework for such systems has been successfully implemented. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/50258 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
