The knowledge of Microwave technology is applied as the base technology in wireless communications such as GSM for cellphone, WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) for internet, Global Positioning System via satellites for navigation, Radio Detection and Ranging or RADAR, even Microwave oven for cooking by means of dielectric heating.
