Abstract: There is a recent development in the area of conversion energy devices in the ocean, which is based on Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV). The presence of VIV in this kind of study is desirable, since higher VIV results in higher energy harvesting. It is therefore important to understand the characteristic of VIV, so that it can be employed for more efficient energy harvesting.
