dc.description.abstract--This thesis consists of two parts. Nanostructured magnetic materials are expected to have superior magnetic properties and are useful to improve the efficiency of devices as well as to increase the range of applications, Co and Co-Fe based nanostructured magnetic alloys have not been well explored although they exhibit a number of attractive properties. This project focused on the formation of nanostructures in Co and Co-Fe based alloys using crystallization of melt spun amorphous precursors and mechanical alloying (MA) techniques, as well as characterization of the nanostructures fundamentally using DSC, electrical resistivity measurements, XRD, TEM, SEM and VSM.en_US
