Title: | Development of multimedia educational software | Authors: | Saw, Thant Lwin Tun. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering | Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | With ever increasing use of computer and e-learning technologies, interactive educational tools are becoming more and more popular. This project aims to develop an educational learning and design software which would enable better and effective learning experience for students in the discipline of Engineering Mechanics. This project focuses on the Theory of Elasticity. The application consists of two main parts. The first part is the interactive learning tool which is made up of detail explanations and concepts of the theory of elasticity with animations and tutorial problems with interactive features. The second part is the design software which focuses on the designing of thick wall cylinder. This software is capable of calculating radial and hoop stresses for thick wall cylinders of different combinations of materials, sizes and internal and external pressure conditions. The results can be shown in detailed steps and in graphical presentations. While this educational software was developed by using Visual Basic programming, graphical presentations and 3D images were drawn by using Autodesk Revit and were exported to Visual Basic as image files for creation of animations. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/51041 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
