dc.description.abstract | This research paper delves specifically into the delisting regulations of stock exchanges in various countries all over the world. We examine how five economic variables of countries, namely corruption, investor protection, exports, internet users and population have bearing on the strictness of its stock exchange’s delisting regulations. Our results reveal a positive relationship between the rank of a stock exchange in terms of delisting regulation strictness and the rank of its home country in terms of level of exports, and this predictive model improves with the inclusion of investor protection. Overall, our results support the findings from previous studies that purport that despite increasing integration of capital markets worldwide, geography is still not irrelevant to finance and that the factors of a country have bearing on the development of its capital markets. | en_US |
