Title: | The hijab : to wear or not to wear? | Authors: | Nur Hidayah Fauzan. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Social sciences::Sociology | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | This research examines the significance of the hijab from the point of view of both male and female groups in the Muslim community. It attempts to question how far the interviewees agree on the importance of the hijab in a realistic setting. Also, the research aims to see how modernization has affected their understanding of the hijab as well as how they try to adapt to a secularized system and practice their faith at the same time. At the same time, it also compares how the different gender groups in the Muslim community react to the hijab and the wearer. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/51607 | Schools: | School of Humanities and Social Sciences | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
