Title: | Musical activity for multi-touch system to promote user interaction | Authors: | Yang, LiJia | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Computer applications::Arts and humanities | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | With technology improving each day, there is an increasing amount of multi touch devices in the market. However, such devices are mostly designed for a single user. Even in multi-player games, the direct interaction between users is minimal as users would only focus and interact with the graphical screen. Hence, this project aims to create a musical activity on a multi touch system without the use of visual display to encourage interaction between users. Although sound could be used to in a system to guide users in completing assigned tasks, however significant visual feedbacks are always used together to cue user. Hence, the elimination of having traditional visual display in the system is a challenge for this project. Several design issues were identified before proposing the solution for the system. The whole project used an iterative design cycle to improve and enhance each design. An overview of the previous design and the detailed implementation of the final design were documented in this report. Finally, a user study was carried out to measure the degree of usability and interactivity for the system. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/52053 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
